Smilesparks Orthodontics & Dental Center began its journey in 2012 as a humble, single-chair practice on Ormes Road, Kilpauk. It was founded by Dr. Bala Vignesh, the first graduate in his family, with no background in dentistry, no financial capital, and no industry support — only a clear vision, relentless determination, and an uncompromising pursuit of excellence.

• In 2013, our clinic welcomed just 100 new patients — a modest beginning that shaped our values of humility, hard work, and ethical practice.

• By 2015, SmileSparks took a decisive step forward by upgrading to strict sterilization protocols and structured clinical systems, long before they became industry norms.

• In 2016, we became one of the first practices in the region to introduce PSP wireless digital X-rays, and registered under the Clinical Establishments Act of India, reinforcing our commitment to regulated, accountable, and ethical healthcare.

• In 2017, we expanded into a two-chair practice, strengthening our specialty-driven model and clinical capabilities.

• In June 2019, SmileSparks moved to a larger, brighter, purpose-built facility on Umayal Road, designed to create a calmer, more welcoming, and more efficient patient experience.

Then came COVID-19 — one of the most difficult phases in our journey. Despite severe operational and financial pressures, we made a clear choice: our people came first. All staff received full salaries, and medical needs were fully supported. This phase shaped a core philosophy that remains central to SmileSparks today — sustainability, resilience, and responsibility. It also led to the creation of a more innovative, flexible, parallel investment model to ensure long-term stability through uncertain times.

Today, in 2026, SmileSparks stands as a specialty-driven, ethics-first, future-focused dental institution with:
